Beaches

Beach-Tiki-HutAnna Maria Island has the most beautiful beaches and all of the beaches on the island are public. There are private entries and public beaches with parking but once you get to the sugar sand and Gulf waters, the beaches are for everyone to enjoy. The three main Public Beaches on Anna Maria Island are: Bay Front Park, Manatee Public Beach, and Coquina Beach.

 

Bay Front Park is located at the north end of the Island in the City of Anna Maria and offers quite beaches, spectacular views of the Sky Way Bridge, free parking, covered picnic tables, grills, public restrooms, and a play ground right on the beach for children.

Manatee Public Beach is located in Holmes Beach at the end of Manatee Avenue. Manatee Public Beach offers free parking, picnic tables, public restrooms, a playground, a café right on the beach with food and drinks, and a lifeguard on duty.

Coquina Public Beach is located in Bradenton Beach south of Bridge Street. Coquina Public Beach offers free parking, picnic tables, grills, public restrooms, a play ground, a café right on the beach with food and drinks, and a lifeguard on duty.

Restaurants

We have created a list below to assist you in finding the best place for your next breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just drinks and a snack on Anna Maria Island.

Fine Dining Restaurants – The Beach Bistro located in Holmes Beach is Nationally recognized restaurant offering an unforgettable dining experience and romance on the Gulf of Mexico. The Waterfront Restaurant located in the City of Anna Maria is another great stop and offers inside and outside dining.

Gulf Front Restaurants – If your looking for gulf front restaurants try the Sandbar Restaurant in Anna Maria, Cafe on the Beach in Holmes Beach, or The Beachhouse Restaurant in Bradenton Beach all of them have great views of the Gulf Of Mexico and offer inside and outside dining.

Local Favorites – Both The City Pier Restaurant and the Rod N Reel Pier in Anna Maria are a must stop and a piece of island history. Some other local favorites include: Hurricane Hanks Pub and Grub, and Mr Bones BBQ in Holmes Beach. You can get the best burger on the island at Skinny’s just across the street from the Manatee public beach. Jessie’s Island Store in Holmes Beach, Rudy’s Subs & More, and The Anna Maria General Store in Anna Maria are all great spots to grab a couple sandwiches. Another great place to stop is Sharky’s Seagrill in Bradenton Beach.

Where To Eat Breakfast – Its breakfast time and here are the best places to go. Both Peaches Restaurant and Minnie’s Restaurant in Holmes Beach are fantastic breakfast spots. Also the Rod N Reel Pier in Anna Maria is a must stop and they serve an awesome breakfast so put that one on your list.

Scoops of Various Ice CreamsLet’s Get Ice Cream – On the Island we have Dips and Two Scoops in Anna Maria. Holy Cow Ice Cream in Holmes Beach and Joe’s Eats & Sweets in Bradenton Beach. You can also get some great ice cream just off the island on Cortez Road at Tylers Homemage Ice Cream in Cortez Village. Just off the island on Manatee Avenue try the Shake Pit or Sweet Berries Frozen in Bradenton.

Local Tip: You can usually find live entertainment on Anna Maria Island at The SandBar Restaurant, The Beachhouse Restaurant, The Island Time Bar & Grill, The Bridge Tender Inn, and of course DCoy Ducks.
